I wouldn't say that, actually; I'm just not as accustomed to meeting with you in person. The effect is different, but I wouldn't say I prefer one or the other.

Although now you have me curious regarding your thoughts on that.

You're hard to get used to, in person. I'm better at reading your nuances through your words than I am at trying to see them in your face — usually because they're not there where I'm looking for them.

My superior officer had a hard time getting used to me as well, for that reason; he's learned to ask me what I'm thinking if he can't tell, but that took a while to establish.

And I can read smiles in your words that are much warmer than the ones that usually cross your face.

You also seem to be more comfortable when people give you a certain radius of personal space.

The amount of space I like is generally dependent on the situation, actually - whom I'm with, what we're doing. I don't mind it, but I've never really been comfortable deviating from that too much, so you're right in that regard, I suppose.
