What makes it change color?

I believe I've mentioned a few times that there are artifacts that can be used to enhance the power of one's alchemy.

Yes.

It increases the power I can put into the explosions I create to an unnatural level; without it, I can thoroughly ruin people's day and destroy buildings. With it, I'm capable of leveling cities.

That's why you were so adamant about having them back? Because I was holding your weapons for you?

I'll ask you to keep in mind that everything I do benefits me in some way; I'm not going to try to claim that this is any different. There are other factors as well, of course - would you really want to keep them, knowing what they were? - but yes, most of my concern was with the fact that you had my weapons and I hadn't given them to you in the first place.

That's exactly it, really; I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to destroy them.

Not at the moment, I can't; they aren't anything I use frequently anyway, even when I can.

I didn't think anything of it at the time, but...I don't know. I told you it was an odd question.

One of my employees is painfully superstitious. It was that kind of bad feeling.

That's why I didn't put much faith in it.

Not to me personally. But my boyfriend used to have dreams like that, too. He...opened my mind to the possibility.
