[It takes him a moment to respond to that, simply because he hasn't the vaguest idea why she's even bothering to tell him that in the first place. It hardly matters to him, after all, especially since it wasn't intentional, as he's been saying; if she acknowledges that it wasn't, and he acknowledges that it wasn't, why should he care what the effect was? He didn't have anything to do with it, it doesn't really affect him in any meaningful sort of way, so why...

"Something better" in that it would have been more appropriate, you probably would have liked it better overall, and I wouldn't have ended up needing it to be returned.

Don't get me wrong; I would destroy something on a large scale eventually - either because I was ordered to do so, or simply because the desire struck me to do so.

I would be fine with anything I would receive from you; given how you tend to operate, anything I would get would have been significant to you simply because you owned it in the first place.

If I up and disappear someday, keep an eye out for Kant for me, won't you? I know consolation isn't your strong suit, but it'd be enough to just...make sure he's all right. Check in once in awhile, maybe. Talk to him.
