036. [Text/Action for Goldenrod City]

As grateful as I am that it's no longer raining animals down from on high, it's debatable whether this is much better.

[And there's a shot of the interior of a florist shop – one that's normally well-kept, from the look of it, though the "normally" is a bit marred today; it's not quite bull-in-a-china-shop level of disarray, but it's obvious someone's been going through the flowers with reckless abandon today.

Or, well, something, given that the next shot is showing the area behind the counter; that...well, that certainly is a pair of very young-looking and clearly sleepy goats back there, all folded in on themselves and solidly out cold.]

Don't misunderstand me, they're adorable, but they're making it somewhat difficult for me to work.

As for the more important matters, for those who care: I'm in Goldenrod City for the time being – are these things everywhere, or just here? And it's worth noting that, like with the cats and dogs from earlier, they're not anything I recognize, either.

[And Kimblee can be found in that florist shop for the better part of the day today, actually, if anyone wants to speak to him in person; this is apparently just something he's going to do with himself when he's not terrorizing the network. It's mundane work to be sure, but it's surprisingly calming; granted, if you ask him to arrange anything for you, it's likely going to be very passive-aggressive if he doesn't feel you're being creative enough in your requests, so tread lightly lest you hand your beloved something that translates to "SORRY ABOUT YOUR TASTE."]

[Celes hasn't really been doing too much with herself, lately; after her recent...rather enthusiastic badge campaign, it's been nice to spend some time in Goldenrod City - aka civilisation. With only two more gyms to go, she knows she needs to get back on the road at some point...however, it's been hard to leave, for various reasons. Instead, she's been focusing on increasing her collection of (appropriately beautiful and powerful) Pokémon, browsing boutiques and inspecting various apartments around Goldenrod. As nice as it is to receive free rent at the Dangan House, she's never been interested in having permanent room-mates. Particularly not some with whom she shares such...complicated history. She's been thinking about Hope's Peak quite a bit, lately, now that she's officially been in Johto for a year. In a way, she's begun to relax. Perhaps she won't be sent back there - perhaps she really has won herself a second chance at life.

...it's not a topic she likes to dwell on, so today, to distract herself, she's decided to purchase some flowers for her room. Maybe some sweet smelling ones, with a strong perfume, or maybe some delicate lilies...

There's not much point contemplating other sorts, however. She knows what she's going to pick.]

Ah, excuse me...

[...admittedly, the...state of the shop will momentarily take her by surprise, as she enters, but her poker face is excellent and she's able to keep her distaste hidden. Following her into the shop are an extremely well-groomed Ninetales, with black ribbons on her neck and tails, and finally one of those...falling cat things, with a bandage on her head and a fascinated look on her face.

...no really, you'd think she'd never seen flowers before, judging by the way she gaping at everything. Wow. Ignoring her Pokémon for the moment, Celes focuses on the store attendant.

...who looks...really damn familiar. Hmmm. Well, she'll be polite, as always.]

Do you sell roses?

Mhmm.

[For a moment, Celes seems to go still, her eyes locked on Kimblee, unblinking. But whatever odd moment it was seems to pass quickly enough, and she returns her attention to the various displays around the shops. Or, at least, the ones in one piece, anyway.]

Red ones. Maybe white...

As long as they have thorns.

Roses aren't the same without thorns. I like them that way.

[Turning, Celes examines a display of peonies, reaching out and gently tilting one up as she examines it. Her eyes remain on the flower as she next speaks.]

You're a long way from Tohjo Falls.

Likewise.

[If Celes is surprised that Kimblee remembers her, she doesn't show it. At her feet, her Espurr valiantly tries to mimic her 'classy, flower-examining' pose, as the little Pokémon has named it, but she only succeeds in accidently mashing the thing into her face.]

Obviously your artistic talents extend to more than just dancing. How very gentlemanly.

[There's a hint of amusement in her voice, but there's nothing sarcastic about it. What an interesting coincidence.]

Well, I would hope so. I can't imagine having the store in such a state would be good for business.

[No one really wants to be walking on half-eaten petals when they're there to buy flowers, after all. Speaking of those swarms, however...]

I take it it was those...goat things that did this, then? How very horrid. You don't have a Fire Pokemon you can use to keep them at bay?

[There's a reason she's got her Ninetales out, and it isn't just because she's goddamn pretty.]

I'm sure most places would also frown upon having the inventory eaten by goats. But I suppose your point stands.

[At least Beatrice can firebomb the stupid things to oblivion outside the store. She seems to enjoy it a little too much...]

I do hope they spared some roses, at least.
