[AUDIO / PRIVATE - TEAM ROCKET FREQUENCY]
Good evening.
[The voice that comes over the 'Gear tonight is calm, at least; soft and open, a bit high-pitched perhaps, but generally not unpleasant to listen to. Confident, in a bit of a self-satisfied way. So it goes.]
My name is Solf J Kimblee; I hold the rank of Beta within this organization. I suppose I owe you all an apology for being away from the organization itself for so long.
I think it's time to remedy that a bit.
As one of the field agents in charge of assisting with the training of the new recruits, I would like to extend an invitation to all of you - particularly the new ones that I have yet to meet, although I would like to see those I'm already acquainted with as well. It isn't an order; again, it's just an invitation to talk. I would like to get to know all of you, and to have a fuller understanding of your talents. Should you require orders or simply want something to do, I may have a proposal for you; we'll see.
I would prefer meeting you in person; I'm in the Goldenrod base for the time being, but if you're currently elsewhere, neither time nor money is a problem for me. Let me know where you are; I'll meet up with you.
I must say that I'm pleased with the work I've seen so far, however. Do keep it up, hm?

Ah, greetings Mr. Kimblee. I am Dist, a scientist currently working in the Goldenrod base. I believe we met during the official experiment with powers a few months ago. However, it is nice to get a chance to have formal introductions.
I remember you, yes - and indeed, it's quite the pleasure to finally meet you properly. I'm afraid that I usually don't work too closely with the science division - I'm more suited to field work - but I've gotten to know a few of you, and I tend to be rather impressed with what it is you do.
Might I ask what you specialize in, as far as our organization goes?
I dabble in robotics, machinery, and a bit of genetics. Right now I'm helping Agnus with his project; I had a hand in designing and building the machine for it. I also just started my own project which revolves around evolutionary items, the Metal Coat specifically.
Ah, is that so? I've had genetics explained to me somewhat - Gorthan was rather helpful with that when I first arrived, as they're a bit beyond what we're capable of in Amestris; robotics and machinery are certainly things I can appreciate, however. It sounds as though you'll be quite the asset in days to come; I look forward to seeing what you accomplish.
I intend to make myself as useful as possible. If you are ever in need of a specific machine or device, feel free to ask me. [He wants to look good, after all!]
I am experienced with them. Almost all the robots I built came equipped with explosives.
Ah, so you will be quite useful to me indeed, then - I tend to be assigned to things that involve planting explosive devices. It was something of a specialty of mine, back in Amestris, but my methods were different there; I can build bombs using this world's materials, to some extent, as I was taught how shortly after my arrival, but I've never been particularly good at it. I tend to leave that to the experts.
I admit that I'm a bit particular about aesthetics, but somehow I doubt you'll blame me much for that.
If you don't mind my asking, because I am quite curious: what sort of method did you have for making explosives? In my world, there are really only two practical methods: building an explosive device or causing one with the use of magic.
[To that last bit, Dist smiles.] I certainly don't blame you, Mr. Kimblee. Aesthetics are very important to me as well.
It's a bit of a shame that most here associate alchemy with the practice of turning lead into gold; that's a complete waste of potential, and a bit of a useless practice besides - it's not really good for much outside of upsetting the economy.
But he'll make a valiant effort. Just for you!]
That depends on your definition of "elemental manipulation" - it's the practice of altering the form or structure of given materials. It has a rather wide range of uses - some are based around creation, such as healing, fixing things, or forming items or artifacts for specific uses; some, on the other hand, are based more around destruction, such as forming fire, manipulating the human body in all sorts of horrid ways, manipulating the energy in one's surroundings to force explosions out of just about anything. Most alchemists are capable of doing a bit of both, but they generally aim for one or the other.
I completely understand what you're talking about now. [A smile small appears on his lips.] You know, in terms of how things operate, I'd say your world is the one that reminds me most of my own so far.
[Since Kimblee shared his world, Dist decides to share some of his.] In Auldrant, everything is made up of fonons, basic elemental particles. Fonists manipulate specific fonons to create, alter, or deconstruct just about anything, though most specialize in one or two specific types of fonons.
