Good evening.

[The voice that comes over the 'Gear tonight is calm, at least; soft and open, a bit high-pitched perhaps, but generally not unpleasant to listen to. Confident, in a bit of a self-satisfied way. So it goes.]

My name is Solf J Kimblee; I hold the rank of Beta within this organization. I suppose I owe you all an apology for being away from the organization itself for so long.

I think it's time to remedy that a bit.

As one of the field agents in charge of assisting with the training of the new recruits, I would like to extend an invitation to all of you - particularly the new ones that I have yet to meet, although I would like to see those I'm already acquainted with as well. It isn't an order; again, it's just an invitation to talk. I would like to get to know all of you, and to have a fuller understanding of your talents. Should you require orders or simply want something to do, I may have a proposal for you; we'll see.

I would prefer meeting you in person; I'm in the Goldenrod base for the time being, but if you're currently elsewhere, neither time nor money is a problem for me. Let me know where you are; I'll meet up with you.

I must say that I'm pleased with the work I've seen so far, however. Do keep it up, hm?

This particular meeting doesn't seem to be too formal, however; he's leaning idly back against the desk, not quite standing up but not exactly sitting on it, either, his hands braced back against the top of it for support, legs crossed at the ankle. He seems rather relaxed, all things considered, though his gaze is rather attentive.]

[Formal meeting or not, style is an important thing to this 15-ish girl, who always wears her hair in pigtails, especially in front of people who are at a higher rank. So Kimblee will definitely hear the sound of high heels soon... She might look less relaxed, just because she always looks like it, but she definitely doesn't look nervous or scared either. There might be a spark of curiosity in her purple eyes.

Time is money. And as much I tend to keep myself busy, I just had nothing else to do right now.

Much to my disliking. Annoying music is everywhere, mysterious beast without their full powers from the beginning and it takes forever to train their full powers to them. [HUGE monsters vs. little fairies? Little fairies win, or at least they come with impressive powers from the beginning.

She's so good at first impressions, yes, but at least she's actually talking! Well, at least she liked destroying Whitney's gym.]

Well, I can hardly fault you for any of that, although I will say the music is something you get used to over time; it took me several months, personally, but we don't have much choice. Adapt and overcome.

As for the Pokémon - are you at all accustomed to these sorts of battles? The way you're referring to the lack of full powers implies you're used to something else.

That's what I'm planning to do - or doing all the time, anyway - and I'm quite used to having music playing around me all the time as I'm working in the music business. But, this kind of background music is...

Well, in the world where I came from, we have special kind of magic and those who succeed to unlock it, have full powers immediately. We may get new abilities as time goes on, but it all depends on personality or the magic you use. [...Magic being the fairy, but that's just details.]

My, my, this organization is taking on quite a lot of musicians; I met with another one recently, and there seem to be several already here that have a great appreciation of music, if nothing else. Ah, but that is neither here nor there, really...

Magic is another trait that several here seem familiar with; what I do back in Amestris isn't magic, but it's close enough to be compared, I suppose. That said, however, it is something that takes practice; I can hardly fathom an alchemist's abilities making themselves known at full strength, we would have ten-year-olds destroying nations.

No, and not really. Mostly I've just tried to keep myself busy, so I wouldn't have time to think about it too much.

Understandable, really; a few of my associates and I spent the first while doing the same thing. As for alchemy...no, it's nothing that requires any sort of laboratory; it's the act of transmuting one material into another, or causing some sort of reaction in those materials, through the power of the alchemist and utilizing a transmutation circle as a conduit.

It's used for combat, where I'm from, among other things.

Just the first while? [What's with that? You're talking to a girl who'll keep herself as busy as possible ~~almost~~ all the time.

Not to my knowledge; I have yet to see an instance of them returning, though that may change one day.

As for our activities...well. After a while, we found we didn't have to distract ourselves nearly as much; we became far more accustomed to this world, and what we could offer it. Things became easier; I wouldn't have believed that much had I been told at the start, but there's not much to do outside adapt and overcome.

I'm looking forward to that day then.

Offer to it? Interesting choice of words, because the girl is not sure if she even wants to offer anything to this world. Well, except maybe her opinion on something suddenly taking her here... And a Rocket who's not the most loyal Rocket, but isn't planning on running away from the team either. Becoming something like a high ranked Rocket and someone who'll tell their secrets to everyone else is so much more interesting ...Whenever she goes on with that idea is another thing.]

I don't really have a choice in whether I stay here or not; it's just the way of this place. At this point, however...I find that I would prefer to stay if that choice was given to me, yes.

[That's what you get when you give her words that bring weird questions into her mind. Speaking of her mind, she'll keep that reaction there because it's good to know what kind of people she's working - or currently speaking - with.]

I don't really think that there's absolutely no way out either, just got to keep looking until someone finds away. Other than just randomly disappearing... I see. I'd choose the opposite [if that wasn't obvious, duh, Utau.], but I guess I can play this game while I'm here.

You're more than welcome to tell that to the people who have been here for over two years now - imply that they just aren't looking hard enough, and see where that gets you. I've been here almost a year myself; at this point, I have some theories regarding how this place works, but nothing concrete.

Bluntly put, you're going to be here for a while.

[Who's edgy? She's just one of those people who are supposed to be home, saving her brother's life by doing her best as the superstar of an evil organization... Which is why it would be great to get home as soon as possible. But of course she's not going to tell anything about her brother to you.]

So, how much work does it take to get the rank of a Beta or higher?

Well, you definitely have to be willing to work for it, but at least once you find out what these people like, it isn't too difficult in terms of figuring out what to do. Accept missions when they're offered to you; if a mission is open-ended, show some creativity in how you execute it. Adhere to the organization's rules and don't step out of line too often - they're more forgiving of it if you're successful or have already proven yourself useful, of course, but they rather do like their obedience. Establish communication with the higher-ranking ones if you can; they'll often put in a good word for you, if they like you enough.

If you want to get by in this organization, I would suggest finding someone who's of a higher rank than you, that you wouldn't mind working under. I've no idea if you're interested in science, but I understand that some of the people there are willing to work with the lower-ranking ones; when it comes to field work, Colonel Archer and I will take on juniors once in a while - I currently have several, and I wouldn't mind working with a few more - and I doubt Cobra Commander would be opposed to working with others, either. You're more likely to gain both missions and experience that way, and in the case of a few of us we'll also offer you things like Pokémon or items you might want for free.

Wow. That was a much longer explanation than she expected to get. Great. And she's all ears, trying to memorize everything.]

I am willing to work for it. [She's very determined about it too, as he can definitely at least hear from her voice, if not see from her eyes.] It's all the less workaholic people who are not willing to work with me, especially when I work even more while others take a break. And I guess being part of the group who destroyed Whitney's gym was at least something to prove myself useful soon after my arrival. I don't tend to step out of line too often either. Oh, and I plan to accept missions whenever they're offered.

But then someone reminded her about her brother. Well, Ikuto is not here, so yeah - she plans to change that, but of course you don't need to know anything about it.]

I'm not interested in science at all. I'm interested in big roster full of level hundred Pokémon and field work. Can't say I've ever talked with the Commander - though I plan to say at least something to him, eventually, whenever I think of something to say to him. [orz, flawless social skills, or the fact that mostly he makes her shake her head and go somewhere else.] Either way, I guess I wouldn't mind working under him too much either [unless he'd drive her insane with that personality, because yes, there are some personalities that clearly just annoy this girl and his is not the only one]. Though I'd rather work under people who seem to take things more ... Seriously.
