"Caring" isn't quite the right word for it.

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter why they died - whether it was through no fault of their own, or every fault of their own - and it doesn't matter how much or how little the deceased meant to me personally. I never even spoke to most of them. But the fact of the matter is that it's still a life lost, and more to the point it's a life that ended because of me. Why shouldn't I do them the basic respect of acknowledging them and ensuring I remember them? Whether I cared about them or not, they were still people at one point.

If anything, I'd think I don't deserve to not look.

Don't misunderstand me; I don't regret killing any of them. That doesn't mean I can't acknowledge them just the same.

Did I or did I not tell you that you wouldn't like this argument? It's more complicated than that, and it's also something I'm not interested in arguing with you. Don't get angry with me because you won't leave well enough alone.
