It's the Gate.

I've told you about it before. I don't remember it clearly, but I know more about it than most because of the master. She spoke of it, saying it was the source of alchemy. I can't tell you much about that because I'm a little fuzzy on the details.

I was told shortly after I arrived here that the father of the Elrics was shoved through the Gate. At the time, I assumed that meant he had been killed instantly, but he hadn't. He ended up on the other side of it instead, in a place called London.

Forgive my skepticism, but might I ask where you've gotten your information from to begin with?

I ask because I know what resides on the other side of the Gate where I'm from, and it's...certainly not anything like that.

Granted, I can't really advise on this or give any relevant information; as I've said, in my own version of Amestris, the Gate is...well, it's decidedly not that, let's put it that way.

I've been told what's on the other side for you. It doesn't mean that the same isn't true for my version. I have no way to prove or disprove it even if I wanted to.

While I've obviously never been inside, I...may have seen mine once. I don't know for sure, however; my memories of it are strange in ways that they usually aren't, so I have reason to believe it was likely a hallucination of some sort.

Do you know what happened to this other version of myself, exactly? Archer has never told me and I know better than to ask him; I don't know if anyone's told you, so I admit this is a long shot, but I'm curious.

Archer told me without meaning to, though not the details. He was given orders to do something by Pride. I know Pride pretty damn well. Whatever those orders were, the actual intention was to have Kimbley get himself killed.

Everyone who knew the truth had to die, knowing the way the master works. That included Kimbley.

I'd worked out that much for myself, actually, though I obviously didn't know about your master's involvement. Archer told me about the mission they were on, and he told me about his friend's death some time later, and I was able to piece it together from there - it looked like a setup to me, nothing about it struck me as right.

He's still alive back in Amestris, though I don't know for how long. I know what becomes of him after the fact; there's an array that went off, but it didn't kill him. Yet, anyway. The damage will eventually.

He knew what the purpose of the lab was, didn't he? Yet he would would send soldiers into a city-wide array. Unless he didn't realize what it was for.

I don't know if that's luck or fate giving him a shitty hand.
