I figured I'd be polite and avoid the simpler summation that she's not what you'd call conventionally attractive, no.

She is brilliant, though. It's not as though my criteria for keeping someone around starts and ends with their looks.

I'd be interested in meeting her.

I'm checking in on a few valuables, and then taking a few weeks to visit friends on the Johto side of the map.

I figured I'd ask and see if you were going to be in Mahogany anytime soon.

We're in Olivine for the time being. But Mahogany is possible.

I miss Olivine. The beach near the lighthouse is beautiful in the summer — or in the summer weather, at least.

If I go through Mahogany before you, would you mind terribly if I borrowed your house?

As long as you don't remodel it or anything, accidentally or otherwise.

What do you think I'm going to do, decide it needs a lady's touch and install new carpet and curtains?

When we first got the place, the interior was an appalling shade of lime green.

The entire interior.

Needless to say, we're a little protective of the paint job.

Something like that. Right now it's more of a reminder that there are some things I'm not allowed to buy on impulse.

And I can just picture you telling your superior with wide eyes in hopeful tones that you found it, can you keep it, pleeeeeeease.

Ah, no, he's actually the reason I bought it; we were fighting at the time.

Something like that - I don't tend to stay when we're fighting, I usually go elsewhere.

It's nice, you know, that every so often there arises one of these reminders of exactly why we get along.

Well, it's not as though I was going to stay outside. Besides, the boyfriend I've told you about was here at the time.

Caroline's current residence is an old haunt of mine. Also on impulse, but impulse of a different breed of necessity.

I've wondered before about how you handled your boyfriend and your superior, you know. Was it mostly the same as with Lisa?

He's never seemed to mind the boyfriend as much - perhaps because I'm not usually interested in men and he likely assumed it was some sort of exception. Who knows, really; it's not something I've asked him about.

...Admittedly, the boyfriend was also not terribly bright and incredibly gullible, so that may have had something to do with it.

...Not the sort of person that makes a good rival, I'd imagine, when you put it like that.
