While the blame issue is far
From the crux of the matter,
This would be quite impressive,
So consider me flattered

That you'd think this my doing!
(Though were I behind this spree
There'd be far more explosions,
A greater distance from me.)

I've faced only one,
Not for long 'fore I fled
(My dear friend nearly sent
His own hand through his head

He did facepalm so hard
But I believe I digress);
This fight was unique,
Nothing more, nothing less.

Though my creatures themselves
Have formidable power,
Despite their attacks,
The invaders did tower -

I would say I did nothing,
And leave it at that
(Though it would sting my pride
That those attacks fell flat)

But that isn't the case,
No, it was quite the surprise
With each strike, our opponents'
Power did rise.

It is quite the myst'ry,
What steps should be taken
When this world decides that
Rules should be foresaken

And rules that this world
Has created, no less!
It seems that Johto has
Its own version of chess

In which none of the pieces
May be seen or moved proper
Due to all bound'ries
Being sent to the chopper -

(I admit that I likely
Sound terribly mad;
Both the fight and the cold
Outside are rather bad

So forgive me for showing
Less guile and less charm
Than I usually do,
Even when causing harm

And sending you texts
In the midst of it all;
Bluntly put, I'm annoyed
At the result of this brawl.)

But I'm not here to complain
Nor bring up past conflicts,
Due to these things placing us in
Such a hideous fix.

I take it you've faced down
These creatures as well?
I would quite like to hear
How you fared, if you'll tell?
