00?. [Action for Goldenrod City / FOURTH WALL EVENT]

[Normal: Kimblee is hanging out on the outskirts of town today, wandering around in the snow.

Also Normal: His current activity is centered around forced population control on groups of wild Pokémon in the area; most call it "training," the local Rattata call it "horrifying."

Still Normal, If A Bit Disconcerting: Said population control involves a lot of loud explosions, followed by some kind of disturbing laughter.

Decidedly Less Normal: Those explosions are happening in rapid succession, too quickly for them to be caused by Selfdestruct without a lot of Revives...

Wait, What?: Hold on, Kimblee's Pokémon are nowhere to be seen.

Arceus, Please Save Us: ...yeah, those explosions are coming from Kimblee himself.

...oh dear.

When things aren't exploding, he's still more or less composed, if you see him from the back or at a distance; there's nothing frantic or erratic about his actions - if anything, his movements are very tightly controlled and almost unnaturally calm. He's simply walking around in areas that are quite obviously still tall grass, despite all the snow, and seeing what he finds. It's his expression that's obviously not right; he's got an >8D face going on that's only capable of being rivaled by very spoiled children being given free rein in a candy store on Christmas morning. And once something jumps out at him from that grass, it quickly becomes very obvious why.

He brings his hands together with a sharp snap, then drops down easily, the motion fluid; it isn't long before snow and general destruction is flying everywhere as explosions rip through the ground.

They're nowhere near as powerful as they might have been with the Philosopher's Stones - Johto wasn't that good to him, and the realization had led to a bit of linefacing at first - but they're still alchemy, and after two months without?

Feels. Good. Man.

So yes, there are a lot of explosions somewhere outside of Goldenrod (...okay, pretty much everywhere outside of Goldenrod eventually, because he's not going to stay in one place); Kimblee's just laughing like a maniac and...clapping like a moron, fainting Pokémon left and right as he goes. Today is awesome. Awesome.]

[ Maes wouldn't call it... disturbing, exactly. But Maes honestly did miss the simpler times when all Kimblee had to terrorize wild Pokemon with were his own Pokemon... ]

... I can see that. What brought upon the sudden change?

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ yeeeeah... nope. Maes doesn't get that at all. He's just a normal person, not like you freak-show alchemists... ]

How curious... I wonder what caused it.

[ He glances curiously down at his Eevee. She doesn't seem any different. And, of course, he's not feeling anything different, either. ]

I wonder if...

[ He's more mumbling to himself, now, than talking to Kimblee. But perhaps this means there's a way home? ]

[ Well, Maes likes to think about things and get all the facts. That's how he got where he is, after all.

He takes a moment to think through this situation. Hmm... last he'd spoken to Roy, he'd only had six badges. Maes was quite certain that Roy would've told him if he'd gotten all eight. And Kimblee had mentioned that he hadn't started at all.

... Perhaps, then, it was one of the ones he hadn't had much interaction with? That Victor fellow claims that he'd been here a while... ]

I wonder if someone from our world has completed the challenge.

[ He rubs his chin thoughtfully. ]

Like, a door that's been opened, that's letting some of the outside air in. If that's the case, I'm assuming that we only have a limited amount of time to find the door and return, before it closes again.

[ A pause. Then, a shrug. If you'd want to return at all. ]

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-10 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ohoho... what is this, Kimblee and Hughes theorizing together? Bet nobody thought this would happen.

Maes takes some time to ponder this new bit of information. He's a little frustrated that he doesn't have more information on this world, yet. Unfortunately, information is incredibly hard to come by... it's almost as if... ]

I'd imagine that, whatever is keeping us here would not want us to figure our way out. Otherwise, they would be helping us reach our goals. This is only a theory, of course, but perhaps after you reach a certain level, you lose contact with the network. After all, if one makes it seem that going up against this Elite Four is simple, then they'd lose credibility.

[ Ffff. Figures, the one time Kimblee and Hughes are talking on friendly terms, and they won't even remember it later. ]

I've been told that I've been here before, though I don't remember any of it. And I've heard of these sudden disappearances as well. It's almost too convenient, really. People disappearing and leaving no traces that they were ever here.

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
If they're traveling with partners, then it would be very difficult for one to complete the challenge and the other to not, wouldn't it...

[ That was also not really a question. Right now, they're both really just thinking out loud at each other. ]

Or perhaps those that disappear without reaching the challenge are simply people who've come across too much information. And whoever is behind all of this is just covering his tracks, keeping anyone else from finding out anything more.

[ ... That doesn't sound familiar at all. Totally not what happens in a certain someone's future... ]

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He laughs at that. ]

You mean, you don't think I completed the challenge when I was here the first time?

[ It's okay, he doesn't really believe he did, either. But he isn't at all connecting that with his real death, since nobody ever wanted to tell him how and why he died. He's just assuming that Kimblee is talking about how he's going to start figuring stuff out here again. ]

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A blink.

And then, just a stare. He's not sure what you're trying to get at, there... ]

1/2

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ You can't manipulate him... >: He's too smart for that! ... yup...

Give him a moment to let that sink in. ... ]

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh...

... that makes sense. ]

If that's the case, it was probably a stupid idea to bring me back here again.

[ A dry laugh. Oh, the irony of it all... And the so many things he's not aware of that everyone else seems to know. ]

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Okay, he'll take that. ]

We'll see, hmm? If I suddenly disappear, you'll know why, then.

[identity profile] eliciadaddy.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[ As funny as this all is... if that's the case, Maes is busy thinking of a way he can get information to Roy. ]

I suppose that's one way of getting home, if you're too lazy to do the whole challenge... just do a lot of speculating.

[ It's fun for some people. It'd be like a game... ]
