[Well. The previous night's sleep was absolutely hideous, for reasons that Kimblee really doesn't want to discuss, especially not with the network as a whole; however, the lack of contact with people is possibly the last thing he wants.
So. Polling the audience time again. Let's do this thing.]
While I know that this world has a tendency to pull some strange sorts of mayhem when it comes to bringing people here, have any of the rest of you found people from a different version of the world you came from? I'm not talking about different points on the timeline - though if any of you have experienced anything particularly strange on that front, I'm interested in hearing about that as well. What I'm referring to are instances of the world being identical up to a point, and the subsequent differences led to the timeline of your world and the timeline of this alternate version being entirely different.
From what I understand, this can lead to things such as another version of you living out an alternate version of your life; an example of what things might have been, if you made different choices. I know that it's a popular theory, philosophically, but have any of you received irrefutable evidence that that's the case in whatever reality you came from?
Because I have.

It didn't treat me too badly, overall; I was fond of it.
[Well, at least until -
...
...you know, your life really isn't supposed to go to hell because you got out of prison, is it...]

[n....o it is not. but then again he's never been in prison.
well
unless the walls count as a prison.]

oh you sweet summer child]
Of course it's all right; it would be a bit rude of me to demand that others provide information while being unwilling to offer any of my own.
You've likely never heard of the country I come from - most people haven't, unless they're from that country themselves. It doesn't have a terribly large population, I don't think, but it's decently-sized; the majority of people live in the capitol, the rest is largely rural. A lot of fields, some mining and the like. There isn't much to look at in terms of terrain until you get further north - but then, I'm a bit biased, as that's where I'm from originally.
Most people have never been outside of the country, though that isn't because we're forced to stay - there are no walls, at least not physical ones. However, my country has had hostile relations with the neighboring countries for many, many years now; I don't remember a time when we were at peace, actually, it's not something I've seen in my lifetime. The government could also be considered incredibly corrupt; this hits certain people harder than others, and there have been various military-based atrocities that are committed from time to time. So it's mostly a great lot of people treating each other terribly, rather than any sort of outside enemy; the greatest threat to humanity's continued existence is humanity itself, really, which I imagine must sound strange to you given your circumstances.
The peace found in this place is strange to me; if anything, it's rather boring compared to what I'm used to. There are also things that I'm capable of back home that I can't do here; this world has seen fit to cut me off from some of my natural talents, which is a bit annoying. But overall, I can't complain.
text;
Though it doesn't really sound that far fetched to be honest. It's sad but I can't see it changing anytime soon. Humans are cruel, even to their own kind. Sometimes I wonder what's worse; us or Titans.
What kind of talents? Ah--I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, it's just... interesting to hear about another person's world.
text; (how did I...not...see this, um...)
Are you familiar with the concept of alchemy?
Re: text; (even gmail forgets about bert shhhh)
No. I haven't even heard of it until now.

But gold aside, does that mean you could take anything else and turn it into a weapon? Like a slab of steel into a sword? Or into cables?

[But it'd make so many things much easier if it did. A boy can dream!]
What else can people do with it?
