I slipped, actually, and called him "Major" by mistake. Too much thinking of you, I suppose.

To answer your question, though — he's really wonderful.

I suspect I'm far more flattered by that than he would be, if he knew.

I agree with that last point, however; he's a bit grating from time to time, granted, but for the most part he's pleasant enough, and he's an interesting person.

Well, he's met Lisa Zampano. I told him I was a friend of Major Armstrong's.

Well, that first part is for the best, really; you don't want to go casting suspicion on your character by association like that within the first conversation.

And as for Gracia...we're probably going to have to say something about that one day, aren't we.

You're going to explain to Colonel Hughes that you borrowed the names of himself and his spouse so that you could run off to a charming town in the middle of nowhere with a lady friend in secret?

We really are going to end up married.

That's what I'm afraid of. You'll avoid thinking about it right up until the point when you actually have to answer it, and then the next thing we know I'm your estranged parallel universe cousin Shirley because you made something up on the spot and now that's that.

Well, you have to admit that "estranged cousin Shirley from a parallel universe" will get us less questioning than the actual explanation, at least.
