I'm not sure why I'm writing this, in light of that.

We argued once, about the meaning of people. Whether or not someone could mean something to a person, and how, and in what context. Whether a loss could be felt in a general context, or if it had to be a specific one — specific to the person, somehow caused by them in particular, in a way another person wouldn't.

If memory serves, we argued over whether you meant something to me. Whether you mattered.
