Good evening.

[The voice that comes over the 'Gear tonight is calm, at least; soft and open, a bit high-pitched perhaps, but generally not unpleasant to listen to. Confident, in a bit of a self-satisfied way. So it goes.]

My name is Solf J Kimblee; I hold the rank of Beta within this organization. I suppose I owe you all an apology for being away from the organization itself for so long.

I think it's time to remedy that a bit.

As one of the field agents in charge of assisting with the training of the new recruits, I would like to extend an invitation to all of you - particularly the new ones that I have yet to meet, although I would like to see those I'm already acquainted with as well. It isn't an order; again, it's just an invitation to talk. I would like to get to know all of you, and to have a fuller understanding of your talents. Should you require orders or simply want something to do, I may have a proposal for you; we'll see.

I would prefer meeting you in person; I'm in the Goldenrod base for the time being, but if you're currently elsewhere, neither time nor money is a problem for me. Let me know where you are; I'll meet up with you.

I must say that I'm pleased with the work I've seen so far, however. Do keep it up, hm?

I suppose so. There are obviously some things I've gotten used to better than others.

That's admittedly why I asked to meet with you in person; I still don't trust the device very much, and I've been here for almost a year now.

Ah, is that so? I've had genetics explained to me somewhat - Gorthan was rather helpful with that when I first arrived, as they're a bit beyond what we're capable of in Amestris; robotics and machinery are certainly things I can appreciate, however. It sounds as though you'll be quite the asset in days to come; I look forward to seeing what you accomplish.

I admit that the genetics of my world are a bit different than most worlds because of the difference in basic molecular structures, but it has been easy to adapt. Gorthan has been quite helpful on that front.

I intend to make myself as useful as possible. If you are ever in need of a specific machine or device, feel free to ask me. [He wants to look good, after all!]

[Ren listens to Kimblee's word, somewhat relieved that his were believable. It hadn't really been easy to think of something that would be easy to agree with and that would at least sound good in someone else's mind.]

Yes. I feel that it would be bad to get drunk on fame when you're on this side. It's easier to do things when there's less people who know about you. [Then, he adds.] Though I do admit that I quite enjoy being the spotlight when I perform on stage, but only then. There's two different paths, two different ways to act.

I'll keep that in mind. How good are you with explosives?

It's something that you have to see to fully appreciate. I'll just state that it's a mode of transportation and leave it at that; I have reason to think you'll like it.

[After all, you're close enough to him in temperament, and he loves the damn things.]

Ah, indeed? Is it similar to the train, then?

[Wow, that is a specific question, isn't it? But this is Team Rocket, so he hardly raises a brow to it.]

I am experienced with them. Almost all the robots I built came equipped with explosives.

[...well, it is and it isn't. As you said, Team Rocket...a few of us just really, really like blowing things up here.]

Ah, so you will be quite useful to me indeed, then - I tend to be assigned to things that involve planting explosive devices. It was something of a specialty of mine, back in Amestris, but my methods were different there; I can build bombs using this world's materials, to some extent, as I was taught how shortly after my arrival, but I've never been particularly good at it. I tend to leave that to the experts.

I admit that I'm a bit particular about aesthetics, but somehow I doubt you'll blame me much for that.

If you don't mind my asking, because I am quite curious: what sort of method did you have for making explosives? In my world, there are really only two practical methods: building an explosive device or causing one with the use of magic.

[To that last bit, Dist smiles.] I certainly don't blame you, Mr. Kimblee. Aesthetics are very important to me as well.

[He actually seems at least somewhat interested in that, as opposed to just humoring Ren with the question; deets, man.]

I suppose most here would consider it closer to magic, but it's more of a science as far as those from my world is concerned - I was an alchemist, specializing in energy-based transmutation.

It's a bit of a shame that most here associate alchemy with the practice of turning lead into gold; that's a complete waste of potential, and a bit of a useless practice besides - it's not really good for much outside of upsetting the economy.

This particular meeting doesn't seem to be too formal, however; he's leaning idly back against the desk, not quite standing up but not exactly sitting on it, either, his hands braced back against the top of it for support, legs crossed at the ankle. [Formal meeting or not, style is an important thing to this 15-ish girl, who always wears her hair in pigtails, especially in front of people who are at a higher rank. So Kimblee will definitely hear the sound of high heels soon... Then she'll knock on the door twice before a girl wearing black high heels, a short black gothic lolita dress and black stay ups steps in. She might look less relaxed, just because she always looks like it, but she definitely doesn't look nervous or scared either. There might be a spark of curiosity in her purple eyes.

Indeed? When it comes to the musical side of things, singing is about all I can manage; nothing stage-worthy, of course, and when it comes to instruments and the like I admit to having roughly the same amount of natural talent as your average rock. However, I can certainly appreciate those who are talented enough to pull it off.

No, not at all; you'll likely become rather acquainted with them over the course of your stay here, should you remain with your current employment long enough, but I'll likely show you personally before that time comes.

Well, even good singing skills are a blessing. The world is filled with those who cause noise pollution with their voices. [Especially the karaoke stands are filled with them. He doesn't want to go out to karaoke with his fangirls again.]
