Consider, for a moment, the law of conservation of energy - in which the total energy in an isolated system remains constant over time and can be neither created nor destroyed, but can change form. Theoretically speaking, one could find a way to convert resting or chemical energy into kinetic energy and use the force to blast a hole in the ground. The energy was neither created nor destroyed, and you either created a hole or destroyed the ground, based on how pedantic you feel like being that day - either way, you have effectively received something (ie, a result) while creating or destroying nothing in order to give you that result.
...of course, given that you own a Ditto and presumably breed Pokémon, I could have skipped the science lesson in favor of giving you an incredibly crass answer regarding the miracle of life and left it at that. That's always a valid example as well.
