And it's not like battling's going to kill them, either. Pokémon are durable, and that's probably part of the reason why it's so acceptable for them to battle in the first place. To the people here, it's probably no different than wrestling matches.
I'm personally fine with it. Heck, I enjoy training my team. It's just irritating when people get up in arms over the idea behind training when this world obviously runs differently.
But I guess that's why some people wind up breeders. It's not for everyone.
