That example is well and good, but doesn't take into account other factors like the reason for the destruction itself - take sadism, for example, which would make it perfectly acceptable to build a tower for the sake of confining someone and watching the isolation drive the individual mad. It's still destruction, but of a far more intimate persuasion.
