He supposes it makes sense that they would understand spoken language from humans, given that they have to take commands, but he doesn't like the thought of this thing actually listening to them.
Regardless, the chimera is happy and excited and when it's happy and excited it tends to get this weird urge to Kill All The Things. So...]
