Mister Mustang's clearly from somewhere far ahead of the brothers and me, Al was ahead of Ed until Ed went back home for a few weeks... So the time thing is just completely random.
I heard that people can also fall into a coma here. They go back home during that so called coma and when they wake up, they've been home for some time and things back there have really happened to them, so they haven't been just dreaming about those things. Just, never question time here?
