Were I to be attempting to work toward my own goals, this association would be more detrimental than beneficial - I'd think it would be obvious for now that I prefer to not work out in the open, and besides, hostile takeovers and ruling the region aren't anything that interest me. That rules out my interest in helping him take over the region for any reason whatsoever - I have no reason to want someone so inept to succeed, not even for the sake of orchestrating his downfall later.
So what, exactly, are you claiming I stand to gain? And I would prefer not to be insulted by you insisting that my methods make sense to me and almost no one else, as that's cheap.
