[Kimblee pauses for a moment, evaluating the request; he's normally suspicious of those asking him too many questions, but Gorthan would likely consider him to be more...useful to him, so to speak, if Kimblee is still capable of doing alchemy as opposed to unable to access it - as such, he doesn't exactly believe that Gorthan is going to try to put a stop to his work.
Just the same, he won't allow Gorthan immediate access to his hands - he's become a bit hypersensitive toward that sort of thing since the fight with Ed in the mines of Baschool. He'll approach, but if there's any sign that Gorthan is going to try to touch or grab him, he's going to move back.
He wouldn't normally be quite this wary of it, but he doesn't have his Stones here.]
It isn't the clapping itself that allows me to access my alchemy; arrays are necessary for that regardless of what you're trying to do, with very few exceptions. Transmutation circles can take many forms; I just happen to carry mine with me.
[He turns one of his hands toward Gorthan, revealing the partial array burned into his right palm - the circle containing the inverted triangle with the symbol for the sun inscribed within, and the writing in what appears to be at least three languages surrounding the entire design itself.
There's a light scar running through the array, though it doesn't seem to have upset the design any; he doesn't seem bothered by it.]
The counterpart to that design is transcribed on my left hand; when pressed together, they form a hexagram, invoking all four of the Classical Elements. The symbols in the center oppose each other; the completed array allows me to transmute.
