explosivecombat: (And what have we here?)

The one I was in was a civil war, actually. A specific ethnic group within our country was opposed to one of our practices, for cultural and religious reasons - they claimed that what we were doing was blasphemous to God and an unforgivable transgression. However, relations between us remained mostly peaceful, or at least nonconfrontational, though they were incredibly tense; once in a while there were uprisings, though they always settled themselves quickly enough.

During one of those periods where aggression was higher than usual, one of our soldiers shot a child belonging to that ethnic group, on their land. The civil war started from there.
