...ah, the date isn't terribly important; the point is that this is a far less remote area than the original location. If anyone from New Bark Town asks, you can say that someone gave you a ride here using one of their Flying-type Pokémon, or you were travelling with someone that was picked up like that; given how often people disappear from Johto, it wouldn't be considered unusual for that to have happened and whomever did you the favor simply disappeared a short time later.
Otherwise, the locals don't seem too bothered, given that there are so many of us wandering around here.
